Fifty-seven masterworks from the Brooklyn Museum exploring the subject of modernity in America.
The leading artists of the day are featured, including Georgia O’Keeffe, Milton Avery, Marsden Hartley, Stuart Davis, Arthur Dove, Rockwell Kent, Elie Nadelman, Reginald Marsh and Norman Rockwell, each of whom addressed the changes brought on by two world wars, the Depression, and modern technology. American Moderns features works in a wide array of artistic styles, including Cubism, Synchromism, Precisionism, Expressionism, and Social Realism.
