Astronomy Day
April 16, 2007
The Springfield Science Museum will celebrate Astronomy Day on Saturday, April 21, from noon to 4 p.m. Weather permitting, visitors will have an opportunity to look at sunspots through specially-filtered telescopes set up on the Quadrangle by museum staff and volunteers from the Springfield Stars Club.
Earth Day Festival

The Springfield Science Museum will hold its 17th annual Earth Day celebration with a family festival on the Quadrangle green (indoors if it rains) and a city-wide clean-up of Springfield parks and conservation lands.

The Springfield Science Museum's large rooftop telescope will be open for public sky-gazing on Friday, April 6, at 7:30 p.m.
Ubora Award Nominations

The African Hall Subcommittee of the Springfield Museums is seeking nominations for the 16th annual Ubora Award. The award is presented to an African-American individual who has demonstrated a commitment to the Springfield community and exhibited excellence in the fields of community service, science, education, humanities or the arts. Nominations must be received by March 31, 2007.
Family Fun Program

The Springfield Museums' Weekend Family Fun series will continue on Saturday, Feb. 10, with a day of dinosaur activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Springfield Science Museum. The event will celebrate the opening of Life Through Time: Dinosaurs & Ice Age Mammals, a display of huge, roaring robotic creatures.
