Registrations are currently being accepted for "CSI: Cycles, Systems and Inquiry," a two-week summer institute for teachers of grades K through 8 from July 10 through 21, hosted by the Springfield Science Museum.

The program is part of the Museum Institute for Teaching Science (MITS), a statewide consortium of museums and environmental centers. A rotation of activities will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Springfield Science Museum, the Children's Museum at Holyoke, Hitchcock Center for the Environment, and Mt. Topics will include energy and industrialization, watersheds and river habitats, botany and horticulture, and the Earth's atmosphere and its effects on weather. Teachers will develop inquiry-based classroom activities to support the Massachusetts Science and Technology/Engineering Curriculum Framework.

Participants can earn 60-90 Professional Development Points (PDPs) or four graduate credits plus 90 PDPs. The registration fee is $200 with an additional fee of $150 for optional graduate credit.
