Michele & Donald D'Amour Museum of Fine Arts

An exhibition of watercolor paintings by the late Springfield-born artist Robert Woolfe will be on view from July 22 through September 28 at the Michele and Donald D'Amour Museum of Fine Arts. A reception with members of Woolfe's family will be held on July 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the museum. The reception is free and open to the public.

Watercolor Paintings by Robert Woolfe includes New England and California coastal scenes, castles in France, Montana landscapes, and Japanese street scenes.

Woolfe, an award-winning artist who passed away in 2004, was a scenic artist for MGM for 20 years. He designed movie sets and did freelance work in the amusement park field, creating scenic environments for Walt Disney Company, Hershey Park and Legoland as well as other parks. Although Woolfe lived in California, he visited the East Coast frequently. He belonged to and won awards from the California Art Club, Pacific Palisades Art Association and the Malibu Art Club. His paintings are in private collections through out the United States, France, England, Japan, Switzerland and Australia.
