Wheeler & Changing Exhibition Galleries, Second Floor
Michele & Donald D'Amour Museum of Fine Arts
Founded in Springfield in 1949 by artist Harriet Lumis, the Academic Artists Association has a national membership of more than 250 artists. The term “academic” refers to artists who combine a strong foundation in drawing with skilled use of perspective, color and other techniques to create representational art. In celebration of the association’s 60th anniversary, this invitational exhibition presents 60 works in a variety of media by award-winning American artists.
