2-day Workshop
Saturdays, November 3 & 17, 2007, 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Currier & Ives introduced 19th century America to media as we know it today. Color newspaper images, disaster scenes and celebrity shots were all new to Americans.
Explore the historic reality behind these often romanticized prints and debate the role of lesser-known controversial images.
This two-part teacher workshop introduces history, ELA and art teachers to the use of images in the classroom. Learn about lithography, how to analyze images, and 19th century American visual culture.
To guarantee your space we must receive your registration and payment of $45 by October 31. Participants will receive 10 MA PDPs after completion of BOTH days.
