This book consists of five essays on Shays' Rebellion, with a focus on Springfield and the Connecticut River Valley, Taunton, Worcester, and Boston, as well as on Jason Parmenter, who was sentenced to be executed for his role in the rebellion. Taken together, these essays and illustrations provide a unique way to view the events of Shays' Rebellion, increase public awareness of the intricate nature of the events of two hundred years ago, as well as to focus attention on the significance of Shays' Rebellion for the history and for the future of the United States of America.
