The Springfield Museums' Weekend Family Fun series will continue on Saturday, October 27, with "Hairy Scary Halloween." Activities will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are free with museum admission unless noted.
Safari Dan
Weekend Family Fun programs are sponsored by TD Banknorth.
Live demonstrations:
"Safari Dan" will introduce some creepy critters that live in the Science Museum's live animal center; 11 a.m., 1 & 3 p.m.
Meet some more live animals from the Museum of Science in Boston; 12:30 p.m.
Make slime with Mad Science; 2 p.m. ($1 activity fee)
Ongoing activities:
Take a spooky tour through the Victorian-era George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum; 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Have a quick lunch at the Family Fun Snack Bar; 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m., Museum of Fine Arts.
Make a "howl-arious" craft at the Science Museum; 11:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m.
Create a hair-raising art project in the Art Discovery Center at the G.W.V. Smith Art Museum; noon-3:45 p.m.
Learn what owls eat by dissecting an owl pellet; 2:30-3:45 p.m., Science Museum.
