Native American Pow Wow

The Springfield Museums will celebrate fall with a Native American Pow Wow on Saturday, October 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Quadrangle grounds. The Pow Wow is part of the Museums' Weekend Family Fun series sponsored by TD Banknorth. The event is presented in collaboration with the Native American Intertribal Council of Western Massachusetts.

The Pow Wow will take place rain or shine. If it rains, performances will be held in the Museum of Fine Arts auditorium.

There is a $3 per person fee to see the outdoor performances. Indoor activities are free with museum admission.

Display, sale and demonstration of crafts by Native American artisans and vendors, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Quadrangle green.
Live Native American Birds of Prey show with Julie Collier of Wingmasters - 11:30 a.m., 1:30 and 3:30 p.m., Museum of Fine Arts.
Intertribal drumming, dancing and singing - Noon-5 p.m., outdoors.
Live salmon display by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service - 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Central Library.
Tour Native American Hall – 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Science Museum.
Make your own clay pot and dream catcher - 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Science Museum.
Make a canoe - Noon-4 p.m., G.W.V. Smith Art Museum.
