Donald D'Amato, history professor at Springfield Technical Community College, will lead a walking tour of the grounds of the Springfield Armory on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 10:30 a.m. until noon. The tour will begin and end at the Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle on Edwards Street off Chestnut Street.
The tour is part of the Second Saturday Walking Tour series, co-sponsored by the Armoury-Quadrangle Civic Association and the Springfield Museums. Walking tour tickets are available in the museum Welcome Center on Edwards Street and are free for members of the civic association or of the museums. Tickets for non-members are $5 per person. All proceeds will go toward improvements to the neighborhood.
Café Lebanon is offering 10% off lunch on the day of the tour with your ticket, and The Fort restaurant is offering a free miniature glass beer stein on tour day with your ticket. Walking tour participants will also receive a $2 discount on Museum admission that day.
Following this tour, the Second Saturday Walking Tour series will be suspended for the winter and will resume in April. For additional information, call the Armoury-Quadrangle Civic Association at 413-747-1830 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
