A Hidden Treasure Revealed: Rare Tlingit War Helmet Discovered at Springfield Science Museum

Museum Director David Stier, who has worked in museums collections for almost 30 years, describes the discovery as nothing less than “the find of a lifetime.”

New Currier & Ives Exhibit Opens at D'Amour Museum of Fine Arts

This month, the Springfield Museums unveiled a new exhibit of Currier & Ives prints from the collection of the Michele and Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts. The display, titled The Connoisseurship of Currier & Ives, is on view through June 15, 2014. The Museum is home to one of the largest permanent collections of Currier & Ives prints.

Culture & Cocktails Offers an Evening of “Champagne and Moonlight”

The Springfield Museums will host their third Culture & Cocktails event of the season on Thursday, December 12 from 5-8 pm at the Springfield Science Museum. The event, titled “Champagne and Moonlight,” is sponsored by Westfield State Alumni Association. The media sponsor of the Culture & Cocktails series is The Republican.

Museums to Host Annual Holiday Gala

The Gala provides a wonderful opportunity to both individuals and corporate donors to help underwrite the many innovative exhibits and educational programs offered by the Springfield Museums. The event is sold out, with over 400 tickets purchased.
