New! Modern and Contemporary Art: From Trash to Treasure
Walking around the colorful work of Lisa Hoke, contemporary installation and sculpture artist, students will look for familiar packaging and advertising and discuss the relationship of consumerism and recycling in today’s society. The history of contemporary and modern art, artistic practices and issues that artwork raises will be explored through the museum’s permanent collection. Following gallery exploration, students will collaborate to construct a sculpture. Curriculum connections include cooperation, discussion, elements and principles of design.
