School Vacation: Sights and Sounds of the Rainforest

Activities are free with museum admission unless noted.
Rainforest Adventure, 10 am-5 pm
A multi-sensory exploration of one of our planet’s most precious resources. Through a variety of interactive experiences and hands on displays, you’ll learn about the amazing diversity of life in rainforests and the many challenges they face today. On view through May 11. $5 special exhibition fee for all visitors ages 3 and up.
Earth Rhythms by Roger Tincknell, 1 pm
From rain forests to recycling, conservation to compost, Earth Rhythms travels from our backyard to around the world celebrating and teaching environmental awareness and responsibility. Captivating songs, stories, legends and facts are accompanied by the Native American rainstick, Incan Charango and flute, Russian balalaika, African Achika drum, as well as guitar, mandolin, banjo and harmonica. Seating is limited.
Art Activities, 11 am-3 pm
Hands-on themed crafts in the Science Museum.
Family Science Adventures, 11 am-2 pm
Look for the Roving Scientist. You never know where they might be and what kind of demonstration they have in store for you!
Art Discovery Center, Noon-3:45 pm
Try on costumes, make an art project, and get inspired by colorful, hand-painted murals.
Planetarium Shows, 11:15, noon, 1 & 2 pm
Explore in the cosmos in the Seymour Planetarium. Additional fee. Learn more >>
