Museums à la Carte Lecture

Mary Margaret O’Connell, Lowell Mill Girl
Sharon Kennedy, professional storyteller
This is a highly gripping performance of an Irish mill girl living and working as a weaver in the mills in 1847. Come prepared to learn about Irish culture in that time period in Massachusetts; and be prepared to laugh and to cry.
“For the time that storyteller Sharon Kennedy is on stage, you may forget that she is not actually her character, not an immigrant, and not living in Massachusetts in 1847 in a stick and mud house with no toilet. This is a highly believable performance.” - Miami Herald
