Welcome to the Graveyard: A Tour of Cemetery Art & Symbolism with The Gravestone Girls

Join us for a ‘virtual tour’ through photographs, tracing the evolution of cemetery art, history and symbolism. The presentation begins in the colonial era of the 1600s and winds it’s way through the Victorian era of the rural cemetery movement in the 1800s. The journey continues into the 20th and 21st centuries of modern gravestones comparing what is currently seen against the ideologies of our ancestors, their messages and their artwork.
