Wild in the Neighborhood: Urban and Suburban Wildlife
Frances Ryan, environmental journalist and educator, Horizon Productions
You may hear them in the night, see them scurrying up trees, lumbering through yards or darting across streets. You may even be completely unaware of their presence, yet many species make their homes in and around our communities. This presentation explores the lives of a variety of animals commonly found in many urban and suburban neighborhoods. Lifestyles, adaptations, diets, survival strategies, abilities and antics of several species will be examined. How and why these animals live near or among humans will be discussed, as well as tips on living safely with wildlife.
