Museums in the Movies: A Film Clip Festival
January 10th, 2:00 pm
General Museum EventSnow date: Sunday, January 24, 2 p.m.
When movie directors decide to film a scene in a museum, it is generally not because the characters want to look at art. Museums are places where monsters lurk, where robbers lay elaborate plots, and where collections come to life at night. Dr. Mary Malloy has collected dozens of clips of museums in movies for her course on the history of museums at Harvard and will show them during her presentation. Dr. Malloy teaches in the Museum Studies Program at Harvard University and in the Sea Semester Program in Woods Hole. Coffee and cookies will be served following the program.
Free with museum admission.
